Membership rockets for eLearning Network
CIC
After more than 20 years as an unincorporated association with
around 150 members, the eLearning Network (eLN) - a non-profit
organisation run by the e-learning community for the e-learning
community – is beginning its first full year as a community interest
company (CIC). In its last year as an unincorporated body and with a
new membership structure including free associate membership, the
eLN saw its membership rise tenfold and, now that it is a CIC, its
membership stands at over 2,000.

Full members of the eLN - a non-profit organisation run by the
e-learning community for the e-learning community – have unanimously
approved of the organisation's transition from an unincorporated
association to a community interest company (CIC).

The eLN debates the secrets of building
engaging e-learning
Methods and media; learning strategies; design processes, and
personality, values and culture, are the four stages in creating
effective and engaging e-learning, believes e-learning designer 'guru',
Patrick Dunn. Addressing the issue of 'designing engaging e-learning',
Dunn explained his view at a meeting, in London, of the eLN - a
non-profit organisation run by the e-learning community for the
e-learning community.

membership criteria. There are now four levels of full membership
available, in addition to the associate membership grade.

Historic contest for eLearning Network committee places

For the first time in the 21-year history of the eLearning Network (eLN),
the UK's foremost professional association of users and developers of
all forms of e-learning, there has been competition for places on the
committee, with 19 candidates standing for the 12 available places.
According to the eLN's chairman Clive Shepherd, who announced the
results of the election, at the eLN meeting held in London at the end
of November, the voting was close, with a single vote making the
difference between being elected or not.
The
eLearning Network signs up its 1,000th member this year

Monique Head - an American from Atlanta, Georgia, who is now living
in Antibes in the South of France - has become the 1,000th person to
join the eLearning Network (eLN), the UK’s foremost professional
association of users and developers of all forms of e-learning.
The
eLearning Network provides a unique learning opportunity

At the eLearning Network (eLN)'s September conference, e-learning
professionals will have a unique opportunity to see how live e-learning
contributes to the overall blend. Live or ‘synchronous' e-learning
delivery technologies and applications will be under discussion at the
conference – which takes place at Holborn Bars, in London, from 9.30am
on Friday 26th September.
eLearning Network's Band of Brothers

Steven Spielberg and
Tom Hanks - executive producers of the cult series 'Band of Brothers' -
were not in evidence at the recent one-day conference, organised by the
eLearning Network (eLN), the UK's foremost professional association of
users and developers of all forms of e-learning. Neither, of course,
was William Shakespeare, who coined the phrase 'band of brothers' in
his play, Henry V, which became the title of Spielberg's and Hanks'
World War II drama.
Book early, urges the eLearning Network

eLearning Network replies to Learning Light's
proposal

At a specially convened meeting on 12th July, The Committee of the
eLearning Network unanimously resolved not to accept the current
proposal from Learning Light to transfer the membership of the eLN into
Learning Light Membership Services.

For the second successive year, the eLearning Network (eLN) - the
UK's foremost professional association of users and developers of all
forms of e-learning - will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Relief
as part of this year's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' at its
conference in London on Friday 29th September.
eLearning Network in discussions with Learning Light

eLearning Network holds coffee morning for cancer care

The eLearning Network (ELN), the UK’s leading professional association for users and developers of e-learning, broke with tradition in two senses for its September meeting (on 30th September). The meeting – which, as usual, attracted a ‘sell out’ audience – was held at a new venue, the Thistle City Hotel in London’s Barbican, in order to accommodate the particular demands of the day’s
programme.

of e-learning - has joined with publishers BizMedia to launch the
eLearning Awards. The ELN has decided that, in its 18 year history of
serving the e-learning industry, the time is now right to promote
awards that recognise excellence in e-learning and, crucially, from the
perspective of learners.
