Firstco's Three Peaks Challenge nets some £1,200 for COSMIC children's charity

Seven members of staff at Firstco, the technical consultancy, project management and systems integration specialists - Rupert Exham, Darren Grey, Steve Haynes, Peter Laing, Stephen Nuttall, Richard Tirrell and Colin Reynolds - have completed the Three Peaks Challenge and, in the process, raised some £1,200 for the Children of St Mary's Intensive Care (COSMIC) charity.

Firstco delivers UK’s largest Allen-Bradley SIL2 ControLogix Project

Firstco, one of the UK’s leading technical consultancy, project management and systems integration specialists, has just completed the Customer Factory Acceptance testing of a ControLogix PLC system that is believed to be one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The PLC network architecture was specified by Firstco’s design team working, in partnership with BAA, on the prestigious Terminal 5 (T5) Project at London’s Heathrow Airport.

Firstco uses Value Assured Engineering to save £millions

Thanks to the application of 'Value Assured Engineering' (VAE) by Firstco, technical consultancy, project management and systems integration specialists, the Heathrow Express station at Heathrow's new Terminal 5 has seen an initial systems budget of £25m reduced to an anticipated final cost of £19m - thus saving some 25 per cent on the overall cost of the project.

BAA Heathrow Airport Ltd's Rail and Tunnels team selected Firstco, the technical consultancy, project management and systems integration specialists, to implement the Control & Communications systems for the extension of the Heathrow Express rail service into the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow. This Terminal is scheduled to open in March 2008.

Refurbishment and relocation for the Heathrow Express Control Room

Firstco, the technical consultancy, project management and systems integration specialists, have completed the two-stage relocation and refurbishment of the Heathrow Express Control Room (HECR). The move was prompted because a new multi-storey car park was being built directly above the site of the original control room.

Low-light cameras help stop action

In the wake of the terrorist attacks in London on 7th July 2005, the stations served by the Heathrow Express upgraded their CCTV system - to improve the quality of the CCTV footage available and also to speed up the process of providing relevant footage in the aftermath of any incident.
