UK Software enhances its TranSearch® file tracking system

UK Software has enhanced its TranSearch® software - which deals with the live file management of paper files, boxes, magnetic media and so on, from creation to final archive storage and destruction - with the addition of ‘Associated Document Archive' (ADA), which tracks electronic images related to paper files.

ADA relates images, emails and any other electronically created documents to their physical counterparts (notably the physical documents from which they were created). This allows for parallel tracking of records and also gives users the ability to recall both paper and electronic image simultaneously.

"This enhancement of the TranSearch software - which is currently in use with a number of large financial and public sector organisations throughout Europe - takes account of today's move towards a paperless society," commented UK Software's managing director, John Messeter.

"The paperless society is still some way off but the ‘less paper society' is now here. TranSearch is now a hybrid system that enables this transition to take place seamlessly.

"In the past we've had opportunities to link TranSearch with certain of the major EDRM programmes but we've specifically rejected these approaches," Messeter added. "The reason is that, while we're happy to link our software with any EDRM system, we don't want to be restricted - and we don't want to be regarded as being ‘biased' to one specific EDRM system.

"Consequently, our clients are not tied to any one third party archivist - because TranSearch can interface with any third party archivist system," he said.
