Learning Light helps businesses exceed sales targets

Learning Light (LL), a non-profit centre of excellence in the use of learning technologies in the workplace, has played a part in helping a number of businesses including LINE Communications to improve their sales performance.

LINE Communications, for example a leading provider of learning and communications solutions and owned privately since 1989, has met its 2007 annual sales target in the first six months of the company's fiscal year.

In January of this year, LINE began an ambitious three-year growth strategy that was developed with business advice and support from the Sheffield-based non-profit centre of excellence in the use of learning technologies in the workplace, Learning Light (LL).

LL's David Patterson commented: "We were delighted to be able to support LINE Communications and other businesses in our network, which is helping them to grow and to also to raise their profile with potential customers."

LINE's 2007 sales target was its most aggressive annual sales target to date. Just six months into the fiscal year, the sales objectives were exceeded across the three main business units: consulting, content creation, and technical implementation. Moreover, every market sector saw strong growth, with LINE winning over 80 per cent of all new business pitched for.

The positive results have led to an acceleration of LINE's three-year growth strategy which includes an expansion into mainland Europe and the further expansion of its Sheffield operation.

LINE is currently involved in substantial consultancy projects with a number of high profile clients, including Ford of Europe, PC World, Jaguar/Land Rover and the Borders and Immigration Agency.

"The year started out very strongly," said Steve Ash, Director of Sales and Marketing at LINE. "We had a combination of early business wins in January and the good fortune to win an IT Training Award for our BBC Editorial policy training programme in February.

"Since then, we've maintained an impressive sales record week on week. Our success has meant that we are expanding our teams in both Sheffield and London, and we're able to demonstrate consistent, planned growth in a difficult market."
