Learning Light moves to give UK LearnOnline sales a boost
Learning Light (LL), a non-profit centre of excellence in the use of
learning technologies in the workplace, has appointed business
consultancy GOconsult to help it promote UK LearnOnline learning
materials abroad, especially to countries in Western Europe.
Learning Light (LL) has signed an agreement with Cees Zwaard and Mark
Mattocks, of GOconsult, which will enable GOconsult to help LL manage
the marketing, sales licensing and administration of National Learning
Network (NLN) materials directly and through resellers worldwide - that
is anywhere outside the UK.
Mark Pittaway, LL’s CEO, commented: "Earlier this summer, UK
LearnOnline, a consortium of learning content producers which has
developed the learning content for the NLN and promotes the UK learning
industry on a global scale, appointed LL as a trustee of the
consortium. Our role within the consortium is to be its exclusive
representative to manage the marketing, sales licensing and
administration of the NLN materials directly and through resellers
worldwide."
He added: "We appointed GOconsult on the basis of the extensive
experience of Cees Zwaard and Mark Mattocks. They have worked with many
leading global organisations to deliver commercial solutions and I am
confident that Learning Light will reap the benefits of their input."
Zwaard and Mattocks are the first of a number of specialists that LL
hopes to appoint to help it in its task to help support and promote the
UK’s e-learning industry internationally.
Zwaard was CEO, managing director or consultant to: Columbia Tri-Star
Home Video, SONY Computer Entertainment Europe (i.e. PlayStation),
Gremlin Group PLC, UPC/Chello Broadband (the first broadband company in
Europe) Global Interactive Gaming (GIG), SKY and ZOOtech.
Mark Mattocks, a marketing and business consultant with over 18 years
experience in sport, consumer durables, toys, entertainment, new
technology, bioscience and publishing, has worked with a host of
leading organisations. Mark was previously head of marketing at Orange,
managing the development and launch of Ananova, the World’s First
Virtual Newscaster, the New Media Division of the Press Association and
International Marketing Director for Gremlin Group Plc.
Using their extensive commercial experience GOconsult offers a wide
range of services to help businesses grow, including mentoring,
consultancy and business development and planning implementation.
GOconsult’s Cees Zwaard commented: "In the UK LearnOnline materials, LL
has a great product.
"The UK leads the world in many areas and these learning materials
reflect some of the best aspects of this leadership. As such, they have
much to offer to people and organisations outside the UK."
"We are looking forward to working with LL on this project - which
should bring a number of benefits to ‘UK plc’," he added.
